Edward Edwards: “To Tell the Truth” and the Ultimate Conman By Joseph B. St. John

One of the fascinating things that happen when you begin to report on “True Crime,” is that whether or not you want to admit it or not you start to become an “Armchair” profiler.  Even after 30 plus years of police experience and knowing better, I can fall into the trap.  So, I don’t want to overstate my case but one thing I do feel comfortable saying is that it appears a lot of violent offenders/ serial killers are also fantastic conmen.

You don’t have to look any further than Edward Edwards to see this in full bloom.  For those who don’t know about Edwards, you can check out his story here.   On the Internet, he has been attached to every major crime in past 70 years.  He has been accused of everything expect the Kennedy Assassination.

But, one thing that can be said about Edwards was he was a conman killer.  Below, take a look at his appearance on the popular game show, “To Tell the Truth.”  Watch it carefully and understand he would go on to kill five people which included his adopted son.  The book he wrote, which was a sham, was only written to promote himself and his TV appearance. He was the worse kind of conman.  The one who kills for pleasure.
